Shimano says that its engineers examined 3D data using its pedalling analyser to understand how riders apply pressure throughout the pedal stroke, then “optimised the new RC903 and RC903W shape and materials to maximise power transfer while maintaining comfort”. These are the shoes that have been worn by the likes of Mathieu van der Poel and Romain Bardet this season.
